About Me
I was born in 1971 in Ettenheim, Baden, which is in south-west Germany, very near France and Switzerland. I was raised there and also spent my youth there.
After graduation I began an apprenticeship as a machine setter and as an engine driver as well. After this I pursued further education as an engineering and environment technician.
From my youth the motorcycle has been a great passion of mine.
After I completed my degree I spent a longer period outside of Europe for the first time.
Between 1997 and 2007 I undertook three journeys, visiting around forty countries, being a total of four years on the go. For three and a half years during this decade abroad, I travelled with my motorbike. Most of the time I spent in Asian countries although I have also traversed Africa.
Although photography has always fascinated me, I only discovered my second real passion rather casually on my first trip to south-east Asia.
My recent creations which derive from a 25 month motorbike journey through Africa and Asia will be published this year by NZPV in a bilingual photo book.
